Owie...the Artist!!

We moved to South Carolina almost 3 years ago to be closer to our Grandguys...

Myles, Sam & Owen.

One of the BESTEST things is spending time with these sweethearts...

I have decided to JUMP BACK into scrapbooking...because I can use my creativity to document the moments in time.....I want to scrap, because it makes me happy.....I do not do chronological ( for me this would be a disaster...I will never be able to "catch up")

Last week....we were painting in their back yard...

I used a stamp from my Stampin UP! stash...(yep...still got ALOT of these)

...and THE KIT.....was a Gauche Alchemy....I know..I know....you are saying WITW???...why is she buying stuff she possibly already has in her vast stash???( you were thinking it!..right?)

Well......lookeeee at all the goodies....oh my... wonderful punchinella...assorted flavors & sizes...unique papers...combos that forced me to think outside the box!..Loveeeeeeeeeeeeee!

...and I still have TONS of leftovers to add to my stash!!..I cannot wait til February's kit to get here!

Dear Family & Friends....

.....it's been a while...since my last post....

Lot's of changes....

But, in case you were wondering...I am STILL here creating!

I have had to put my travelling shows on hold temporarily...but 

StudioBeeCreations

is still up & running...and the BeeHive is a buzz!

I am currently concentrating on studio work...submitting for publications and design team calls....and of course, my etsy shop!

My blog appearance needs a little work...and I am hoping there is someone out there who can help me/advise how to tweek my appearance.

Getting my POP of Color ON!

 

Short 'n sweet posty....getting started with my bottle brush trees for the upcoming season....

 

and yessssssssssssssss...I was wearing gloves..but, WITW anyhoo, I AM a POP of Color!

 

Next show coming up is Bella Rustica in Tennessee....and then I must stay close to home for several weeks as my hubby {Mr. Wonderful} has back surgery.

BUT...I am looking towards the Open Window...and pressing on!

 

I have some projects up my sleeve(that's a hint!)...that I am working on to submit for publication...with the ever present encouragement from family & friends!

 

Going Forward...with the example of sweet friend Alexa Lett  (well known author, and fantastic artsy-craftsy merchant)..leading me toward that said "open window"...I will continue my quest (cue music...any music..I love to sing).

Working on some canvases, art blocks and assorted mixed media yumminess!

Home again...home again...Jiggity Jig!!

Soooooooooooo...I travelled to Atlanta to particpate in

The Revival of Vintage show at The Goat Farm!

 

It was absolutely awesome...being "back in the saddle again"...on the road doing a show!

***but...by myself...I really missed my hubby!***

I met up with some wonderful vendors...Alexa Lett   who has been so very wonderful, and encouraging to me, since I met her at the show last fall.....and also Kristen & Evie from

Ella Marie Clothing ....who, without them, I would still be packing up!...lol

 

 

 

Now.....I am getting ready for my NEXT adventure...The Hayloft Barn Sale show in Clarksville, Tn

...I am over-the-top excited to be able to see some old friends from when we lived in Tennessee!

Speaking of  friends....over the weekend, I was able to meet up with a sweet childhood (teenage years) friend whom I graduated high school with!...seeing Sadie after all these years was sooooo awesome!!!....my only regret is that we did not get a snapshot taken of us together!....maybe next time?

Tomorrow...I am back to the "regular" job...but counting down the days for  the next show!

Making applications online is  MUCH easier nowadays....we've come a LONG way baby!

So......for some yummy SpRiNgTiMe inspiration:

 

I scored a box of VINTAGE wooden hangers at GW....my NEW GW that is just a mile from my house...loveeeeee....

 



 

Most of them had Mr. Fred Epting sharpied (is that a word) on them.....half were this type of suit/pants hangers...the other 1/2 were the spring load/clampy ones (no before pic!...sorry)

 

and sooooooooooooooo.......

 

I made up a huge assortment of DOUBLE-SIDED (kinda like a two-fer...gotta love that!) hangers that can be for displaying art...photos.....or even scrapbook pages (out of the books that no-one takes out to look at)....

 

They can be changed out so very easily...hang them around the house....one side has wordage..the other, assorted vintagey fun....

 

 

 

I used my ENDLESS supply stash of scrapbook papers...and applied with my FAVORITE medium of ModPodge....some assorted paints...and embellies....using what I have!

PEEK-A-BOO!!!!!....Look who's BACK!!!!!

SO very sorry I have been away FOR-EV-ER....I am still working at Lowes and lovin'it...I have moved my BeeHive Studio from the basement to an upstairs bedroom to HOPEFULLY corral my STUFF to a manageable size....( but, seriously, now the basement is a storage facility for all the odds 'n ends & doo-dads that do not fit!)

I am trying to get back in the "creative saddle" again....as I have been dormant for too long...so...beeeeeeeeee sure to check back and see what I have been up to!

LOOKEE what I got for Valentine's Day!!!

Isn't she just UBER CUTE?????...and what a FUN gift from my most AWESOME hubby (aka:Mr.Lowes)

Sapphire blue metalic...YUMMY-licious!!!!......My first inkling was to pick a yellow bug with a black convertible top....so BEE-ish.....but, I fell in love with this one instead.....I do however plan on some "bee" accessories!!!

I feel like I am starting my blog all over again. I appreciate all the kind words and emails from my faithful followers...those of you who have encouraged me to get back creating and blogging.

I have so many ideas on my creative to-do list....so you just never know what you might find here....beeeeeeeeee sure to buzz back soon!!!

FUNKY FEELING DAY.....

WOW...OK...I am trying to write a wonderful and uplifting post...and am having a FUNKY day...so, it is hard....working in the "outside work force" after all these years is ...hmmmmm...DIFFERENT than what I have been used to...exposed to.....It is a CHALLENGE to re-train a complacent worker-bee.......my mantra.....PRESS ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....on a much brighter note: lookee what came from my FALL SWAP Partner, Mandy.....a FUN & YUMMY box of goodies.....THANKS, Mandy!!Fall is definitely my favorite time of year....LOVE the colors of the leaves changing...the brisk & crisp air....mmmmmmm!!...SO, this box was UPLIFTING!!!....Now...if I ONLY had a recipe for cookies that I can use the cookie cutters with ( I AM the expert : "drop a rounded teaspoon of cookie dough"...or slice 'n bake queen-bee baker)

Also....I am puppy-sitting for LAURA, whilst she is getting some much deserved R&R.....Miss Lillie Belle has taken over the STUDIO.....Miss Priss, she is in my comfy chair!

A DAY OFF..............

Wow.....what in the world happens to the hours in a day...the days in a week???They all pass by so quickly now with me working at Lowes...I have very little time to be creative in my BEE HIVE STUDIO....so, ANYTIME I can spend is PRECIOUS!
Sooooooooo.....here is a hint of a project that has been on my list of to-do's since last FALL!....inspired by the news related in this post about my UBER SWEET Grandguy Sammy.
I wanted to wait to reveal the idea for my project until dd Joy posted their family's story here.
I am so very proud of her....and all she has accomplished with the boys. Their sweet little family has a long road ahead of them...but, I truly believe that their FAITH will see them through all this....and they will find the STRENGTH to PRESS ON.....

Soooooooo...all that being said....I have wanted to do something to help them across the miles....since it is a SEVEN HOUR car ride from my door to their door ( this does include a couple of pit stops along the way!)....and as much as I would LOVE to be able to be there IN PERSON for physical and emotional support, that is just not in the cards right now.......But, I have this project on my table...all ready to launch now...so, beeeeeeeeee sure to check back and see what my idea is!..I will post & make an announcement when it's in StudioBeeCreations Etsy Shop..In the meantime...I know that Joy would appreciate any uplifting comments and prayers from those of you who have similar life experiences.....and check out her etsy shop too....where she sells her yummy creations.

TRANSITIONS.......and reflections........

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...is anyone still checking??...Is this blog ON???...It has beeeeeeeeeen forever and a day since I posted....not to mention even having time to BLURF myself, and see what everyone else has been up to.....well...thats what happens when after over 22 years of staying at home....working OUT OF the home...then transitioning back into the everyday workforce does to you.......I feel like a butterfly making the transition.....its a whole new world!!.....And my job....at Lowes....I am sooooooooo LOVIN' IT!!.... SO,....what have I been up to in the STUDIO?.....Well....after the 22 year transition...I decided to revisit my first love of sewing...pulled out my most awesome faithful Bernina...and....jumped back into FABRICS again!....and it feels so good!!!.....After joining a few swaps...I am SEW ready to get some of my APRON creations....and other fabric goodies into my Etsy shop....so STAY tuned....& check back!

This first apron went to my swap partner who also lives in Tennessee...(how cool beans is that??)..Yummy fabrics from HL...mixed with a little Amy Butler...VINTAGE tea/dish towel ...TOPPED with a brooch from my dd JOY-FULL-NESS ( it matches!!!)...UBER cute!!

And this one.....from the same fabric....for another swap partner ( in AUSTRALIA!!)....I fashioned this using one of the Days of the Week VINTAGE Vogart towels from my stash....THIS is going to be something I will be creating for my ETSY shop....using my vintage stitcheries in Aprons....Bags....etc......

The possiblities are ENDLESS.....you should see my stash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And how about THIS yummy-ness???????????????....These uber cute MORSELS are PINCUSHIONS!!!.....One-of-a-kind little ( ya know I LOVE little) goodies...that will be in my ETSY shop .....Fun....& Funky......gotta have one???....Email me with your colors, and I'll do up something JUST FOR YOU!....Each comes with a couple of fun pins also...assorted glass beads attached to pearl head pins....

.......oh, and THIS one...is mine........yummy-licious colors....that turquoisey-blue is one of my faves....it IS The Bee Hive STudio color!
SO....in reflection.....altho, I am making the "butterfly" transition....my sewing and fabric is here to stay....but, I still will be creating PAPER crafts also......I cannot help myself.....and I have tons of projects in the works!

BEEEEEEEE-lated HAPPY Mother's Day!!

Ok...honestly...I received these beeeeeeeefore Mother's Day from my dd Jenny and her hubby Bill....but, due to my new job adventure, I am late in posting....so, just wanted to say..."Happy Mother's Day" ....and arent these just beeeeeeeeeautiful???
Today is my day off.....I have been bizzzzzzzzzzy creating some things for RAKS...for orders.....& some ETSY items...hoping to get into the shop VERY soon......I am LOVIN' sewing again!
Also....I am soooooooo far beeehind on checking out my google blog faves.....its really a hard adjustment after having oodles of hours in the day to BLURF...and now, I am lucky to get my email read!....( not complaining....just adjusting!!!).....I am truely blessed and grateful to have a job .....

What in the World?????......SPRING????

Well.................the weather dudes were RIGHT!!....Thank goodness WE (ahem...Mr. Lowes!) covered up all our NEWLY PLANTED flowers and veggies last night!!!.....Is it SPRING, yet???

Check out my bee "wind sock"....whose swirly tail thingy did not survive the last windy day!...oh well....$$$ spot at Target....still a GREAT deal...its a BEE!!!
Looks kinda like a cemetery......but this "bed" houses my rambling rose bush....and some NEW tomato plants....didnt want them to get frozen!
So.....now...I have to run outside in my jammies and UNCOVER everything before the SUN bakes them!...honestly, I do not understand this scientific concept.....but...ya do what ya gotta do!!

Mr. Lowes...and the MEMO Board....Organization!

Whooooowhooooo!....By now, if you are a regular visitor to my blog, you are well aware that I am married to THE MOST talented, understanding, AWESOME man in the world!....and he GETS ME!....Mr. Lowes...I asked for a board that I could use to help keep me more organized....My mind is always spinning with creative thoughts....bizzybizzybizzy....So, he made a handy ( HUGE 23.5 x 32) dry erase board......PERFECT...and left the altering to me!!( what fun!)

Isn't it COOL BEANERS?????.....I used my MOST favorite SU designer paper..Fall Flowers (Oh my goodness!...these ARE MY colors!!)...and cut into 2" strips...and with a SU gluestick(honestly...THE BEST!)...I glued down the strips in a patchwork look....THEN...from MY STASH 'o stuff ( Hoarding!!) I found some Mod Podge that had glitter in it...YUMMY-LICIOUS Bling! and coated the paper strips( will protect from dust, etc).....THEN.....using a piece of satin blanket binding left over from a project for my GrandGuy Myles, I knotted a hanger thru drilled holes.....and VOILA!!!!....the icing on the cake:

Another BIZZZZZZZY Day in Paradise

Paradise...thats where I live.....OK...well...the name of the town is Chapmansboro....in Tennessee...but, it is Paradise for me!....An empty-nester...living with the love of my life...my soulmate ( aka: Mr. Lowes...beeeecause, that is where he works).....Doing what I LOVE....creating.....stamping, sewing, mosaic-ing....Stuff-out-of-JUNK....
This is a sweet mosaic mirror I created....I have posted it in my ETSY shop....along with several other VINTAGE repurposed items today......Please beeeeeeeeeeeee sure to check them out!!
