Can you say "OVER THE TOP EXCITED"

Short story.....Last year while waiting for what was ENDLESS hours in the hospital waiting room for BEST HUBBY IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD to come out of surgery...I was doing mindless surfing on my tablet....when I stumbled upon Stephanie Ackerman's Homegrown Hospitality..{truely a GOD thing}

A peace came over me....I sent her a message....she texted me back....and I have been following her journeys ever since....Sooooo when I saw she was coming to DDStudios....just an hour and a half away....BEST HUBBY paid for my classes!!

Yesterday....I participated in
Vintage Market at the Park
in Greer, SC

For several months I have been leaning toward creating more mixed media art canvases....and absolutely loving the creative journey.
The show was quite successful...I had huge interest in my art...sold several pieces..was approached by 2 stores...and had inquiries about "commissioned work"

I did set my etsy shop in "vacation mode" for a bit...while I get my new web-site up & going...was able to register  StudioBeeCreations with Go-Daddy...so, that was the first step

Lovelovelove Unique Laser Designs

and all of their wonderful product!..I am OHSOHonored to have been selected to be one of the Design Team members for April-June 2014! - ULD is based in California and specializes in laser-cut craft items, made from MDF and chipboard....with new product being added regularly...there is always something NEW & fresh!

I took the ULD tags ( a wonderful cut of 3.5" x 6.6") and used mixed media techniques to attach this toooooooo cool Tim Holtz idea-ology cabinet card onto a vintage dictionary page with the word BELIEVE highlighted. The cut-out BElieve in YOUrself is also by ULD.

And another tag:

Colored with Faber Castell Gelatos( OHMYGoodness...the YUMMYNESS!)...and paper pieced sailboat attached with mod podge.....The seagulls are also from ULD!

I am Over-The-TOP excited...again!!

What I have been working SO VERY HARD (#wishicoulddofulltime)

on is being able to create full time.....and tho, I am not quite there YET...I am staying ULTRA positive!

 Using stuff from my stash in The BeeHive Studio....I took a Lowe's tin gift card holder and altered it using a {vintage} Stampin'UP! stamp ( and pp)...I also added some SUPER SWEET cut-outs from 

UNIQUE LASER DESIGNS....UBER fun product!....you mustmustmust check out their awesome site!

{back of holder is stamped with to: & from:...hence..making it a TAG}}

Happy Birthday Cards for Scrap It Girl Challenge!

Come enjoy the fun over @ Scrap It Girl where I am on the Design Team....along with LOTS of other very talented ladies!....The month of March Challenge is birthdays!....I have created 2 cards for the theme...using  my own "sketch" (easy peasy way to do multiples!)

Taking a 6x6 card base...I have adhered VINTAGE ladies hankies from my stash...along with bits 'n bobs from The BeeHive Studio.....both similar in design...and yet different!

Owie...the Artist!!

We moved to South Carolina almost 3 years ago to be closer to our Grandguys...

Myles, Sam & Owen.

One of the BESTEST things is spending time with these sweethearts...

I have decided to JUMP BACK into scrapbooking...because I can use my creativity to document the moments in time.....I want to scrap, because it makes me happy.....I do not do chronological ( for me this would be a disaster...I will never be able to "catch up")

Last week....we were painting in their back yard...

I used a stamp from my Stampin UP! stash...(yep...still got ALOT of these)

...and THE KIT.....was a Gauche Alchemy....I know..I know....you are saying WITW???...why is she buying stuff she possibly already has in her vast stash???( you were thinking it!..right?)

Well......lookeeee at all the goodies....oh my... wonderful punchinella...assorted flavors & sizes...unique papers...combos that forced me to think outside the box!..Loveeeeeeeeeeeeee!

...and I still have TONS of leftovers to add to my stash!!..I cannot wait til February's kit to get here!

I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee creating tags...they can be used for a MuLtItUdE of things...
an embellie for a card

on a scrapbook layout
or
 just a gift tag!
This sweet tag was created from bits and bobs on my wonderful art table...using a Linnie Blooms canvas butterfly shape, turned into a sweet flower(UBER CUTENESS)
The leaves are from repurposed sheet music(couldn't throw THAT big piece away!...lol)...and the inspiration quote from my YOGI tea...yummy!

.....how uber cool beaners is THIS!!????

Found on a "day trip date" with my hubby (Mr.Wonderful)

...at a "yard sale"...on a very side/off road...

This was a file cabinet(slate grey in color) that we transformed into awesome storage ( in a yummy VALSPAR turquoise....yes, we work @ Lowes)!!

Measures 36"w x 19"d x 11"h

3 drawers are 10"w

...and the BONUS...they  were ALL filled with VINTAGE sewing patterns!

...for the steal of the day....$5.00!!

The picture does not do it justice (snowy day in SC)!....but it is by far a fun & YUMMY addition to my studio!

Currently I have it filled with my "I cannot even think of getting rid of these Stampin' UP! stamps!"

(you know what I mean!)
