I've been bizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzy getting stuff ready for my Holiday Open House on October 6th...in celebration of WORLD CARD MAKING DAY....I will have LOTS to post in the upcoming days & weeks.....I am on a roll now.....anything that doesnt move, gets altered!

MY WORLD....ALtered Globe

Welcome to MY WORLD.....this is an ALTERED GLOBE I made a few years ago..before I joined STampin'UP! ( or else there would be LOTS more stamping on it!!)....The globe.....rescued from GOODWILL , was a project I entered at a LSS to compete for an ALTERED ART DESIGNER for the store. Well...I won....but, since then the store has unfortunately gone out of business. ANd now the globe of MY WORLD...my family, my faith, and my love for all things creative, has a place of honor on my mantle in my BEE HIVE STUDIO. It just goes to show, you can alter ANYTHING!.....I have made STUFF OUT OF JUNK for most of my life....having a hard time throwing anything away...even the smallest pieces of paper and ribbon can be used in art!.Recycle....recycle....recycle...and having a blast!!

PUMPKIN POPS 'n CARD

Well.....the purse & accordian scrapbook went over quite well at Julie's 8th Birthday Party last night....a total of 9 hyper, squeeling ( its been a LONG time since I have been in the middle of something like this!) little girls...all stamping ,glue sticking, and giggling!...Thank goodness Julie's Mom & Grandma were there to help!!...Anyhoo....I got them all started...then left all supplies for them to finish up ( it was a sleep-over...and my "Daddy" said I had to come home!!...lol!).....Hopefully they will share their pictures with me to post later this week!

So, for today....I am posting a CASED idea from an assortment of SU Regional swaps....

PUMPKIN POPS...using assorted stamps from two SU sets : Booglie Eyes & Batty for You....I have to admit, I had to borrow BOTH of these from one of my SU "side-lines"(...is that the correct term....not UPLINE...not Downline....but...sideways!)....LOL!
Anyway...my group of DOLLS friends are going to be making these today....along with the Halloween card.(wheeled with the STAR wheel)...PLUS I am giving each of them one of these super sweet PUNKINS' to alter as a container.....I left mine just shabby sweet..so I can use for Thanksgiving also.
As you can see...super duper easy....stamp, color, punch,stick....but a cute presentation!

TAG!!!...You're IT!!!

Ok...this is along the same line as YESTERDAY'S post with Julie's Birthday Party Purse...but is a GREAT idea for a class or gift!...I took the small SU stamp/supply box and with the Crop-a-dile punched the holes at the top so I could thread the 5/8" RED Grosgrain ribbon around (attaching corner edges with mini glue dots) for the "handle". The front panel is cut and layered to just "fit" inside the lid, with the new 3/16"corner rounder....I rolled the ALL ABOUT CHRISTMAS wheel, and made the pointsettia from the 5-petal punch.
For the class, we will be decorationg an ASSORTMENT of holiday tags to fit inside...using numerous techniques. As a demonstrator, your possibilities are endless!...the little box/purse doubles as a gift box!!...I have ordered in a few new tag sets before I do the class at my studio.

JULIE'S Birthday Purse

It's a TERRIFIC TUESDAY...and I am STILL keeping up with my birthday resolution!!...Whoooowhooo!I was "commissioned" to do a PARTY for one of my customer's soon to be 8-years old little girl...Julie..... a sleep over ( for them, not me!)...so , here is what I came up with.

The "purse" is made from a LARGE SU Stamp/Supply box. I used the Crop-a-dile to punch holes in the top ( like butter!) to thread the 5/8" grosgrain ribbon around & through for the handle.
The front panel is decorated using an assortment of SU product in yummy girlie colors.

I also decorated the inside front panel.


Then, I made a sweet accordian book using coordinating papers to go with the
Petals & Paisley ds paper....and tied it all together with matching 1/4" retired grosgrain (weird how SU retired the regal rose in the smaller size & added same color in 5/8"...isnt it?)

The girls will be able to "spend the night" decorating & doo-dadding " their purses!.with an assortment of c/s, ds paper, stamps & punches....Julie's Mom is taking pictures & printing them so they can capture the moments & memories!!
The party is friday....I cant wait to see what THEY come up with!!!!

SO, here is my post for today......This VINTAGE sweet feather tree is LOADED with the teeny glass balls you get at H/L....each is filled with ONE YARD of current Stampin'UP! 1/4" grosgrain ribbon.
These were one of my altered SWAPS for Regionals...the idea: For SU Demonstrators is to have as a DOORPRIZE( one each...NOT ON SALE, comes to approx. 56 cents each!)...or a few for HOSTESS GIFTS.....Looks like candy....great presentation of product....I am using this at my HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE in CELEBRATION of WORLD CARD MAKING DAY at my BEE HIVE STUDIO on October 6th.

ON A ROLL...Day Four!!

Ok, ya'll.....Here I am....day FOUR of blogging...as I resolved to do!...BUT, I am having SUCH an ARGH!!! time with my lack of computer savvy! I took a picture with my new BIRTHDAY CAMERA...Samsung S630...6.0 mega-pixel digital ( WHATEVER that means!)....Downloaded the CD Software to save the pictures...and cannot find them on the computer!...This is soooooo frustrating....Hubby is a work...Laura is not here.....I am ALL ALONE!
SOOOOOO....just gonna wait for the cavalry to show up.....and in the meantime, here is one of the cards I made for my DESIGNER CHRISTMAS CARD Buffet a couple of weeks ago (taken with the old camera....oh...and I still cannot figure out the watermark!!.....so...all images SU..etc.etc.)
Anyhoo....On this triptych (saw basic card design somewhere surfing...dont know where!), I took Old Olive 12 x 12 and cut in 1/2....score at 4" + 8".....Fold accordian style & have at it with assorted ds paper, stamps and punches!....This is GREAT for using up all those bits & pieces you cannot ( or at least I cannot) throw away!!! The poinsettia is made from the 5-petal flower punch ( even the leaves!)...and the WREATH is made with the Three for You punch, layering on top of the scallop punch for a base.
The ladies LOVED this...since they were able to "play" outside the box!

I made this purse using a kit I purchased from Pursue Your Art...I found them on SCS...You HAVE TO check them out!!...Very cool presentation ....The "blank" comes with panels that you decorate, and change up to your heart's desire....I, OF COURSE , used my Stampin' UP! supplies to showcase my ART....you have both sides to decorate:

...and you can change them out...TOTALLY a COOL BEANS product!...plus a fun ball-chain adjustable strap....I got sooooooo many compliments at Regionals....NOT TO MENTION when I go into H/L, the po, or the grocery store!...I will be teaching a class at my Bee Hive Studio this fall. BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE sure to tell the gals at Pursue Your Art that you saw this on my blog!! You will not be disappointed in this product!
Now..if I can ONLY figure out how to put my new watermark on my pictures!!...argh....LAURA, I need you!!!

HAPBEEEEEEE BIRTHDAY BLOG CANDY!!!!

Hoooooray!!!..I am on a roll!!!...Two days in a row blogging!!!...and in celebration of my birthday...as promised...I have a HUGE assortment of BLOG CANDY!!!......There is a little ( ok, a LOT) of each season's worth of DOO-DADS, etc.....and I can tell you, that I will be adding more!!I love to use fabric and dimentional items to my cards and scrapbook pages....so, this assortment includes VINTAGE fabric yo-yo's ( rescued from an ANTIQUE quilt) LOTS of buttons ( some vintage...some new), ribbons, fibers,flowers, stickers, alphas...oh my!
OK...so the drawing will be in ONE WEEK...next friday, September 21st.

MY BIRTHDAY RESOLUTION

It's like starting all over again.....but, here I am...with MY BIRTHDAY RESOLUTION: Tomorrow, September 14, is my birthday.....and I am blogging my resolution to BLOG each & every day...my best bud, Laura has been on me.....and sweet Jen has been so encouraging telling me to use the blog as my "journal"...You see its been rough the past month...after 12 years of menopause ( they say its supposed to last only TWO!!)...I think I am FINALLY winding down to the end....sorry if this is TMI!!...ANyhooo....Here I am...the FIRST BLOG for my resolution...and TOMORROW will be HAPBEEEEEEEEEEEEE BIRTHDAY BLOG CANDY!!!!!!
