MOSAIC Technique UNFROGETTABLE

Its been sooooooooo long since I've posted....I just finished (phew) the 50 page scrapbook for the twins in Canada ( see Voila card)..and I had to get something up...Soooooo this is MY CREATION....a DOLLS Club Tech technique...I do not know if anyone else has ever thought of this...or LABORED over throwing away all that SU Rubber!!....But, since I LOVE to recycle & make STUFF outta JUNK....here goes:
Recipe: Take all of your bits'n pieces of "left-over" rubber and attach randomly to an acrylic block of your choice...leaving approximately 1/8" space between each piece ( this will be your "grout").
For this sample...I first covered the entire HOMEMADE stamp with VERSAMARK, then inked with Spectrum Pad ( I used SU Celebration) applied with a brayer...Using Beate Johns' Masking Technique, I stamped "mosaic" onto a masked area ( from Unfrogettable) onto whisper white c/s.....I then added Crystal Clear embossing powder & heat embossed.
After stamping the FUN FROG in Basic Brown Classic, I used my assorted markers to color him in, and then used Crystal Effects to "shine him up" ( eyeballs too!)
Applied to Only Orange c/s,& on top of A2 card base, then stamped with swirlys from PRICELESS ( I LOVELOVE this set!!) & sentiment with Whisper White CRAFT ink. I added a bow from White Organdy ( I bought up a TON of this when I saw it was retiring...why did SU do that?)
Honestly....with all the EXTRA RUBBER out there...the POSSIBILITIES are ENDLESS!!

VOILA! Birthday Invite

This card is a combination of my love for vintage textiles & doo-dads and STAMPING! I designed and created this invitation as per a request from a VERY SPECIAL customer of mine who lives in Canada...we "met" thru my Ebay site last fall, and she has become a WONDERFUL long-distance friend. After I stamped the VINTAGE LINEN with the VOILA! chef (in Basic Brown Classic), I mailed the 12 pieces to my Canadian friend, Connie, who did the embroidery stitches ( tedious...but very cool!)..Then she sent them back to me to finish up the cards...which are for the FIRST BIRTHDAY celebration of her TWIN nephews! After ironing heat & bond onto the back of the linen, I attached to layers of coordinating cardstock ( non SU)....with FUN painted SNAPS....I stamped the birthday cake onto whisper white c/s and colored in with my Stampin'UP! markers....I used Tulip PUFFY paint ( MUCH MUCH better value than liquid applique', and WORKS!!!) & pop-dotted for dimension. A BIG RED Gingham bow ( wire edged) was attached with a staple then tied.
You're invited ( Hugs & Wishes)was stamped first into Versamark, then into REAL RED Classic ink; Crystal clear embossing powder added, then heat embossed.
Connie has also commissioned me to do the TWINS FIRST YEAR SCRAPBOOK!....which will be a gift to her sister. My BeeHive STudio is scattered with TONS of photos ( figure X 2) and paper & STAMPS to incorporate.
Guess I'll be busy with this project all week!
Blessings, Debbie

Ok....here's the story: As I was multi-tasking yesterday...I have to come up with 4 techniques to show my DOLLS Club Tech for our monthly get-together....I came across this too cool technique for Faux Leather (SCS)...awesome inspiration! Soooooooo....back to the multi-task...I am also getting together card ideas to submit an article to my local newspapers about a CARDS FOR SOLDIERS program I am starting. Fort Campbell Army Base is located close by...so in an effort to support our 101st Airborne Division being deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, I am sponsoring get-togethers of stampers, scout troops, and ANY local groups wanting to participate in making cards for soldiers...to send to them overseas. If anyone would like to participate or support the cause, please email me for details.

More Myles Art

Ok...more of my GRANDGUY, Myles..and his art.....I cannot seem to get the picture right, tho...without my Bestest Friend, Laura ....by my side....SO, I will go ahead and post...so I can get something up...then call her for help!!!!!...what would I do without her??..I dont want to find out!..ANYHOO>...this 12 x 12 was made on non-SU rogue texture c/s....with FUNNY PAPER STRIP cut out & mounted on black textured c/s. I printed on c/s the "right words" to fit...& cut & pasted them onto the strip: ...my daughter's name Joy, Myles & MAMA ( that would be me!) to conform the strip for us.....I KNOW its hard to read....soooo it says:
"Now, Now, Joy...I know he did not do it as an act of rebellion...Since Myles is unable to share his deep love for you in words...to express how much he appreciates all of the things you do for him...he created a very personal piece of artwork. Instead of punishment, you should give him a great big hug"....Then "Myles" says..." Mama is my public relations agent"
I added a metal rimmed tag from my stash that has the definition for "create".

Joy had given Myles some watercolor paints...and he was doing an awesome job, as usual.....but, then decided he needed to expand his CANVAS to incorporate the dining room window. SUCH AN ARTIST!!

Myles Art

My Grandguy: Myles.....he is SUCH an artist!!! ( he gets that from me!!..LOL!) He LOVES to draw...anywhere & everywhere.....here is his TUB ART!...Every single tile had a circle drawn in it,...and then some! Don't you love his Carrot-top !??

This is a scrapbook page I sent into Stampin' Up for consideration for the Artisan award this year...well, kind of. Since I had to submit 8.5 x 11 pages, and when you do not win ( which I did NOT), you do not get back your art!......sooooo, I replicated what I did PLUS added more pics down the right hand side to create a 12 x 12 for my personal album.
Stamp sets: Doodle This, Doodle Alphabet ( dont know WHY they retired this!) & Seeing Spots
Tempting turquoise and Pumpkin Pie c/s, + rogue textured.
Assorted Stampin Write markers...& sharpies ( on transparency sheet/overlay)

Ladybug Wagon

Here is my card for today...I made it in honor of my BESTEST FRIEND Laura, The Stampin Soldier.....aka: Ladybug ( since I am The Queen Bee, ya know!)...Anyway...thought I'd jump on the old Ladybug bandwagon with this A2 size card...and using Pick a Petal ( one of my NEW FAVORITES!)
Recipe:
Stamp sets: Pick a Petal , Holidays & Wishes
Inks: Real Red & Basic Black ( classic)
C/S: Whisper white, Real Red, Basic Black
Ribbon: Black gingham
extras: paper piercer & stash beads...Crystal Effects
Since there are sooooooooooo many posts similar on SCS, I have no idea who to credit with this idea...but I LOVE IT!!!!!!!...I made enough for all my DOLLS group ( we started a CLUB TECH at the beginning of the year)....All of you who are SU demonstrators: This Club lasts 8+ hours once a month!!......A GREAT group of friends stamping!!

Vintage Dresser Scarf

OK...this is actually my first post WITHOUT having my Bestest Friend Laura sitting next to me...guiding me along the way....I am probably gonna have to call her BEFORE I get finished!
This posting is another card I submitted to Country Living Magazine at the first of the year...they did a PHOTO SHOOT, but did not tell me which cards or WHEN they would be published!...argh!!!...ANYHOO...I took a VINTAGE dresser scarf embroidery piece, and using my Stampin' UP! inks and sponges, I "colored in" and highlighted the edges. I do not remember the name of the patterned paper I used..kind of a weathered wood-look.Vellum sentiment with inked edges attached with Crystal Effects and Prima Flowers with Beadlets centers ( I LOVE THESE BEADS!!)

Guess what????...Yep...had to call Laura!!!! ...I just don't know what I'd do without her!! Hope I never have to find out!

Vintage Lace Card

This is one of the cards I made at the first of the year, and submitted for publishing consideration to Country Living Magazine. I used a piece of vintage lace and attached it to textured cardstock...Custom printed the sentiment onto vellum and attached with fun brushed silver heart brads. This is a sample of similar cards I have been selling on Ebay in my StudioBeeCreations store.

Welcome to The Bee Hive...home of StudioBeeCreations!!!

Here is my basement studio window I created with stained glass from my left-over MOSAIC projects ( I save everything!). My soulmate, love of my life, DH Gary, converted our basement into my studio, The Bee Hive...where I can stamp, scrap and create to my heart's desire.

After glueing, grouting and cleaning the glass, I stamped directly onto the mosaic with StazOn .FUN,FUN,FUN!!!!
